The beautiful village of Kaprun lies at the heart of one of Austria’s most popular ski resorts. Kaprun Rentals’ luxurious apartments are all located within this traditional alpine setting.
What started as a private investment - an apartment to enjoy the winter and summer holidays – transformed into an exciting new business opportunity for entrepreneurs Melanie Treffers and Hawé van den Brink, the owners of Kaprun Rentals.
After renting out their apartment, they quickly realised that there was a huge demand from discerning guests seeking luxury rental accommodation combined with high-end service.
“Our guests like to come home after a day of skiing or golf and find themselves surrounded with the same luxuries they are accustomed to in their private home,” says Melanie.
“The biggest compliment we get from guests who’ve stayed is that the apartment felt like a home from home. Then we know that we have reached our goal".
Quality of service and personal touch is the central concept of Kaprun Rentals - this is what differentiates us from the rest of the apartment rental business. Our guests are guaranteed the privacy of a luxury apartment but they also have on hand the seductive service of a luxurious boutique hotel. Kaprun Rentals’ main goal is to quickly anticipate to the needs and desires of their guests.
There are now 13 apartments in Kaprun Rentals’ portfolio, which will increase to 30 by the end of 2014. All are luxuriously styled but each apartment maintains its own individual style – rather like peoples characters, Hawé explains: “Each person is unique in their own way, just like our apartments. In the same way, there is always an apartment that will suit the individual needs of our guests. Our guests don't want off the peg accommodation - when they book an apartment they make their decision by the look and feel and match that to their own requirements”.

The location of Kaprun is also unique – it’s a genuine four-seasons holiday destination. Located at the foot of the Kitzsteinhorn and with the Hohe Tauern National park as its backyard, there are unprecedented natural attractions to enjoy – winter, spring, summer, or fall.
One of the main attractions is the Kitzsteinhorn.
The Kitzsteinhorn is a true legend and more than just a glacier, it was the first glacier skiing region in Austria – it’s an alpine inspiration 3,000m above sea level. Surrounded by the highest peaks in Austria, the panorama of mountains and ice are some of the most powerful view in the Alps. Of course, the skiing possibilities are endless. Whether it’s the novice or the experts, freeriders or the ones that want to challenge themselves at the fun-park, there is plenty of variety to meet everybody's needs.

What makes the Kitzsteinhorn unique is its many contrasts. In one respect you have the rugged, mighty mountain and frozen glacial landscape; and in quite another there is the mountain’s social and gastronomic ambience. Between 900 and 3,000m, there is a plethora of diverse of restaurants, bars and alpine huts with varying menus. Whether typically Austrian or modern European, there’s a menu to suit everyone - from breakfast to après ski.
The latest is the World Summit 3000 with the Cinema 3000, Panorama platform "Top of Salzburg" and the new Summit restaurant. The highlight of this striking piece of modern architecture is the panorama platform. Visitors can walking out on a cantilevered platform, 50 meters above the glacier at the highest point in the province of Salzburg and enjoy the fabulous panoramic view over the surrounding mountains.
Also incorporated in this exciting new development is Cinema 3000 where visitors view panoramic images of Kitzsteinhorn and surroundings on an eight-meter-wide screen. The summit station is easily reached by cable car.
Another annual highlight on the glacier is the Volvo Ice Camp – a global focus for those with passion for sports, design and nature. The Ice Camp has become an institution for all winter sports lifestyle enthusiasts on the Kitzsteinhorn.
Far away from everyday pressures, stunning design and advanced technology form a perfect symbiosis with masses of ice and snow. Experience the feeling of freedom of the glacier of Kitzsteinhorn Volvo ICE CAMP.
Closer to Kaprun you can also enjoy the small but perfectly formed ski area of the Maiskogel. Because most people gravitate to the Glacier or Zell am See, the Maiskogel pistes are less crowded, making it a nice alternative for a morning or late afternoon ski trip.
Also the sunny location of the mountain in combination of the many traditional chalets like Glocknerblick with its panoramic view makes the Miaskogel a worthwhile diversion.
Another new highlight this year is the Tauern Spa. Consisting of a spa and treatment, sauna world and restaurants, the development covers approximately 48,000m². Guests of Kaprun Rentals get special privileges at Tauern Spa – just one of the many benefits of booking through Kaprun Rentals. With a total water surface area of 211m² it’s ideal for health-conscious tourist and perfect for a mini-break pamper. What better way to relax after a day of skiing?
During the summer Kaprun and its surroundings are at their most diverse - for golfers, walkers, cyclists and watersports enthusiasts, possibilities are endless. Golfers will love the flawless greens, perfectly primed fairways, and an unparalleled lake ambiance. Both 18-hole championship courses of the Zell am Zee Golf Club will captivate you with their one-of-a-kind picturesque scenery. This blend of unspoiled nature and optimally constructed golf courses is appreciated by professional players and inexperienced beginners alike. The 'Schmittenhöhe' and 'Kitzsteinhorn' courses, named for the local mountains of the region, make up the largest golf resort of the Austrian Alps.
Kaprun is a place that exceeds your expectations Kaprun - and whether your trip is for business or pleasure, Kaprun Rentals will fulfil your needs. Melanie and Hawé hope to welcome you during one of the four-season holidays.
